Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the services that make the store work, each of which processes it on our instructions:
- Shopify — our store platform and checkout. Hosts the store, processes orders and payments.
- Payment providers — PayPal and any other methods shown at checkout, to take payment and prevent fraud.
- Judge.me — our reviews provider. Receives your name and email to invite a review after purchase, and publishes the reviews you write.
- Google — Google Analytics, Google Ads and Merchant Center, used to measure how the store is used and to advertise it. These only run if you accept non-essential cookies.
- Our suppliers and shipping carriers — receive your name and delivery address so your order can be picked, packed and delivered. Some are based outside the UK.
If we add another tool that handles your data, we add it to this list before it goes live.
We will also disclose data where the law requires it.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of the services above, and some of our suppliers, are based outside the UK. Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected either by UK adequacy regulations or by standard contractual clauses with the recipient.
How long we keep it
- Order and transaction records: six years after the order, to meet tax and accounting requirements.
- Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe, then we keep a record of the unsubscribe so we do not contact you again.
- Support messages: two years.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months, which is the retention period we set in Google Analytics.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the store to work — keeping your cart, keeping you signed in, security. Non-essential cookies, including any used for analytics and advertising, are only set if you agree to them through the consent banner. You can change your choice at any time.
Marketing
We only email you marketing if you have opted in, or if you bought something from us and we are telling you about similar products — and in both cases every message has an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it, where we have no continuing reason to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including for direct marketing;
- transfer it to another provider;
- withdraw consent, where consent is the basis we rely on.
Email hello@fellmontoutdoors.com and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, by phone on 0303 123 1113, or in writing to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Children
This store is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be notified to you directly where we can.
