pocket-chain-saw-survival-hand-chainsaw
Pocket Chain Saw Survival Hand Chainsaw - 65Mn Steel Bidirectional Wire Saw for Camping, Bushcraft, Firewood, Tree Pruning & Emergency Kits

A hand powered pocket chain saw that rolls into a pouch the size of a wallet and cuts branches and small trunks with a back and forth pull. The chain runs around 26 inches with eleven bidirectional cutting blades, so it bites in both directions rather than wasting half of every stroke. Two people can work it from either end on thicker wood, or one person can loop it over a branch and pull alternately.

The chain is heat treated 65Mn steel alloy, chosen for toughness and resistance to corrosion and rust rather than for taking an edge like a knife. Because the teeth are set to clear their own kerf, the chain tends to keep cutting in damp or green wood instead of binding. There is no engine, no fuel, no battery and nothing to service, which is why these keep turning up in survival and vehicle kits.

Five styles are available across orange, black and silver options. Useful for camping firewood, bushcraft, pruning, storm clearance, bug out bags and car emergency kits. Wear gloves, keep the chain clear of your legs on the pull stroke, and never use it above head height without eye protection. Fellmont Outdoors rates it as a backup to a folding saw rather than a replacement, but it weighs so little that there is no reason not to carry both.

Chain length: approximately 26 inches

11 bidirectional cutting blades

Material: heat treated 65Mn steel alloy

Corrosion and rust resistant finish

Hand powered: no fuel, battery or servicing

5 styles in orange, black and silver

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0994/7768/4557/files/fieldory-lifestyle-hero-01-pocket-chain-saw_87652f72-da94-4dc0-8ced-9c31923f1a25.jpg?v=1792439513
