    The beautiful lantern works very well, but it uses AAA batteries. It's good to have rechargeable batteries and a charger. The lantern provides good brightness for a power outage or for breaking a branch.

No. The lantern takes three AAA batteries and they are sold separately. Buy a multipack and keep a spare set wherever you keep the lantern.
How long will a set of batteries last?
That depends entirely on the cells you fit and how long you run it, so we do not quote a figure we cannot stand behind. Fit fresh batteries before a trip and carry a spare set.
Can I hang it inside a tent?
Yes — that is what the two folding wire handles are for. Hook it over a tent loop or a tarp line. Never leave any light source unattended inside a tent.
Is it waterproof?
There is no published water-resistance rating for this lantern, so treat it as a light for inside a tent, a caravan, a porch or the house. Do not leave it out in rain.
Will it work in a power cut?
Yes. There is nothing to plug in and nothing that needs mains power, which is the point of it. Keep it somewhere you can find in the dark — a drawer by the door beats the back of a cupboard.
