Product care
Let it cool completely before packing it away. Check the canister thread and the seal before every use, and never force a cross-threaded canister. Wash the pot by hand and dry it before nesting the burner inside. Keep the burner jet clear and free of food debris. Use outdoors only in a well-ventilated space. Never use it inside a tent, awning, caravan or vehicle - the risk is carbon monoxide, not just fire. Keep it clear of anything flammable and never leave it unattended while lit.
Full details

Boil fast, burn less gas and carry less weight with the BRS-61 Camping Stove System from Fellmont Outdoors. This all-in-one cook set combines a burner and a heat-collecting pot in a single unit, so more of the flame's heat goes into your water and less of it disappears into the breeze. It is the ideal kit for backpacking, bikepacking, hiking, fishing trips and festival mornings.

The fluted heat-collecting base around the pot captures heat that an ordinary pan would waste, which means quicker brews and noticeably better gas economy over a long trip. Electronic push-button ignition lights it instantly with no matches to go soggy, and the adjustable valve lets you drop from a fast boil to a steady simmer for porridge, pasta or a camp curry. It is a favourite with thru-hikers and weekend campers alike.

An insulated cover and anti-scald sleeve make the pot safer and more comfortable to handle, and keep your drink hot for longer. Everything nests together and packs into the included storage bag, with the burner and a small gas canister stowing neatly inside the pot. Gas is sold separately. Use outdoors only, never in a tent, and let it cool before packing. Order your Fellmont Outdoors stove system today.

Efficiency

Less gas, faster brew.

On an ordinary pan most of the flame goes **up the sides and away into the wind**, and you pay for it in canisters. The **fluted heat-collecting base** on this pot grabs that heat and puts it back into the water, which means **quicker boils and noticeably better gas economy** over a week-long trip. On a long walk that is weight you do not carry.

  • **Heat-collecting fluted base** captures wasted flame heat
  • **Better gas economy** across a multi-day trip
  • **Integrated pot and burner** - no heat lost between them

Control

Boil or simmer, your choice.

Plenty of fast stoves only do one thing: full blast. The **adjustable valve** here drops the flame right down, which is the difference between boiling water for a brew and actually cooking **porridge, pasta or a camp curry** without welding it to the bottom. **Push-button ignition** lights it instantly, with no matches to get damp.

  • **Adjustable valve** from rolling boil to steady simmer
  • **Electronic push-button ignition** - no matches needed
  • **Stainless steel** construction

Packing and handling

The whole kit lives in the pot.

Everything **nests together** — burner and a small gas canister stow inside the pot, and the lot goes into the supplied bag. The **insulated cover and anti-scald sleeve** mean you can pick it up straight off the flame and your drink stays hot while you eat. **Gas is sold separately**, and it takes a **screw-thread canister**.

  • **Burner and a small canister** stow inside the pot
  • **Anti-scald sleeve** to handle it straight off the burner
  • **Screw-thread gas canister required** - not included

  • Scot Dickinson20 September 2026

Item arrived with a broken ignition. i didn't have time to replace it ahead of a trip so accepted a £8 partial refund and will make do with manually lighting the stove

  • Delena Kozey19 September 2026

It's great, thank you so much!

  • Brooks Denesik16 September 2026

Small and compact, suitable for one person. the piezo igniter can give you a shock if the "pin" isn't aimed at the burner. you can just barely fit a 100g canister inside if the burner is placed at the bottom.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast does it boil?
There is no published boil time for the BRS-61 that we can verify, so we will not print one. What we can say is what the design does: the fluted heat-collecting base captures heat that an ordinary pan sends past the sides, and that is what makes integrated systems faster and more economical than a burner and a pan.
Which gas does it take?
A screw-thread canister - the standard threaded type sold in outdoor shops and most supermarkets near campsites. An adaptor is supplied with some stoves for pierced canisters; this one is for screw-thread. Gas is not included, and it cannot be posted, so buy it locally.
Can I use it inside my tent porch?
No. Every stove of this type is for outdoor use only, and the reason is carbon monoxide rather than fire alone - it is odourless and it kills people in tents and awnings every year. Cook outside, in the open, with ventilation on all sides.
How big is the pot?
No capacity figure is published for this model, so we are not going to guess at one. It is sized as a one to two person cook pot in the usual pattern for integrated systems - enough for a couple of brews or a freeze-dried meal, not a family dinner.
Does it work in wind?
Better than a separate burner and pan, because the pot sits directly on the burner and the fluted base shelters much of the flame path. It is still a gas stove - find a sheltered spot or use a windbreak, and never box it in so tightly that air cannot get to it.
Will it simmer, or is it boil-only?
It simmers. The valve adjusts down far enough to cook porridge or pasta without scorching it, which is not true of every fast-boil system. That is worth having if you cook rather than just add hot water to a pouch.
