Before you leave
Excess baggage is charged at the counter, in front of a queue, at a rate nobody agrees to in advance. Hooking the bag on at home takes **ten seconds** and tells you whether to move the boots into your hand luggage. Up to **50kg** with **50g accuracy**, which is a long way tighter than any airline's tolerance.
Readable
The **four-digit LCD is backlit in blue**, which sounds like a detail until you are crouched in a hotel corridor at six in the morning. A **'Lo' warning** tells you the battery is going before it strands you, and there is a **thermometer** in there too, in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
82 grams
The whole point of a travel scale is being there when you repack, and at **82g** in a **metal body** there is no reason to leave it behind. Pick the **webbing belt** for suitcase handles or the **hook** for holdalls and rucksack loops. It is just as good on a **fishing catch, a parcel or a rucksack** before a hike.

The box arrived damaged but the contents were intact. It works well. I tested it by weighing a known weight item and it was quite accurate. It arrived at my house in 9 days.
