Product care
Roll the top at least three times before clipping - two is where water gets in. Rinse salt water off and dry it inside out before storing. Store it unrolled and dry; a damp bag rolled tight will grow mould. Keep it away from sharp objects, and pack hard-cornered items in the middle rather than against the fabric. It floats with air inside, but it is not a buoyancy aid and must never be used as one.
Full details

A roll top dry bag that keeps phone, keys, spare clothes and a towel dry when everything around them is not. The 30D ripstop nylon is coated and seam sealed, and the diamond grid weave keeps the weight down without making the fabric feel flimsy. Roll the top over three times, clip the buckle, and the trapped air also gives the bag a little buoyancy if it goes over the side of a boat.

Five sizes cover most needs. The 3L and 5L hold a phone, wallet and documents for a paddle or a day at the beach; 10L takes a change of clothes and a packed lunch; 20L and 35L swallow a sleeping bag, towels or a full kit bag for a canoe trip. Each one folds flat to almost nothing when empty, so it costs you nothing to throw a spare in a rucksack before a wet weekend.

Useful far beyond the water as well: a liner inside a rucksack on a rainy hike, a laundry bag for a campsite, a way of keeping electronics safe on a motorbike or at a festival. Five colours make it easy to tell contents apart at a glance. Fellmont Outdoors likes gear that is cheap to carry and expensive to be without, and a dry bag is one of the clearest examples of that.

How it seals

Three rolls and a buckle.

There is no zip to fail and nothing to learn. **Roll the top over three times and clip the side-release buckle** — that is the whole mechanism, and it is why dry bags outlast almost everything else in a kit list. The **air you trap doing it** also gives the bag **a little buoyancy** if it goes over the side.

  • **Roll three times, clip the buckle**
  • **Coated and seam sealed** 30D ripstop nylon
  • **Floats** with air trapped inside

Sizes

Pick by what goes in it.

**3L and 5L** hold a **phone, wallet and documents** for a paddle or a beach day. **10L** takes a **change of clothes and a packed lunch**. **20L and 35L** swallow a **sleeping bag, towels or a full kit bag** for a canoe trip. Each one **folds flat to almost nothing** empty, which is why most people end up owning several.

  • **3L and 5L** - phone, wallet, documents
  • **10L** - a change of clothes and lunch
  • **20L and 35L** - sleeping bag, towels, kit bag

Beyond the water

Most of its life is on land.

People buy a dry bag for a kayak and then use it for everything else: **a liner inside a rucksack on a rainy hike**, a **laundry bag at a campsite**, somewhere to put **electronics on a motorbike or at a festival**. **Five colours** make it easy to tell what is in which at a glance.

  • **Rucksack liner** on a wet hike
  • **Campsite laundry** and festival electronics
  • **Yellow, red, green, blue or black**

There's room for everything, but what's happening is that the more money is invested in the product, the fewer coins you give? I don't agree with that.

  • Roderick Grimes10 July 2026

    Bought 3 liters too small...also a 22-liter bag.

Unfortunately, not suitable for wearing or swimming with. Otherwise, it's handy, easy to see and convenient to carry around. Large enough for first aid in case of cramps.

  • Gertha Dickens29 May 2026

Very light and thin, and look like they will be waterproof and do the job well. haven’t yet tested it real life conditions but looks well made. shipping was extremely quick. thanks to the seller.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I take it underwater?
No. It is rated for splash, rain and brief immersion - a bag that goes over the side of a kayak and is fished out again will be fine. It is not a diving bag and sustained pressure underwater will push water past the roll.
How many rolls do I need?
At least three before clipping the buckle. That is the single most common reason a dry bag leaks, and it costs nothing to get right. Squeeze some air out as you roll if you want it to pack smaller, or leave air in if you want the buoyancy.
Which size should I buy?
Think about the contents rather than the number. 3L and 5L are phone, wallet and documents. 10L is a change of clothes. 20L and 35L take a sleeping bag or a towel and kit. Most people end up with two sizes - a small one that lives in a day pack and a big one for trips.
Will it really float?
With air trapped inside, yes, it floats - which is genuinely useful if it goes overboard. It is not a buoyancy aid and must never be used as one, by anyone, in any circumstances.
Is 30D nylon tough enough?
It is a lightweight fabric chosen so the bag packs down to nothing, and the ripstop grid stops a small nick becoming a tear. It is not an abrasion-proof heavy PVC bag. Keep it off sharp rock and it will last for years.
Can I use it inside a rucksack?
That is one of the best uses for it, and what most experienced walkers do regardless of what rain cover their pack came with. Water gets past covers around the back panel and straps; a dry bag inside is what actually keeps a sleeping bag dry.
