Product care
Check the strap is tight before a ride; a sensor that rotates on the crank gives erratic readings. IPX7 covers rain and sweat. Rinse salt and sweat off after indoor sessions, which are harder on it than rain. Carry a spare coin cell if you are travelling to an event. Keep coin cells away from children - they are extremely dangerous if swallowed. Re-pair the sensor in your app if readings go missing before assuming it has failed.
Full details

Track how fast your legs are really turning with this Fellmont Speed and Cadence Sensor. Switching between speed and cadence mode is as simple as reinstalling the battery, so one small sensor covers both jobs, and you can run two of them if you want speed and cadence at the same time. It is the easy upgrade for indoor training and outdoor data logging.

Dual-mode ANT+ and Bluetooth means it talks to almost anything: cycling computers, sports watches and the training apps riders actually use, including Zwift, Rouvy, Peloton, Openrider, Cyclemeter, RideWithGPS, TrainerRoad and Wahoo Fitness. Note that the Wahoo app cannot track two data types at once, even with two sensors fitted. Cadence data is one of the quickest ways to improve your riding, because it shows whether you are grinding a big gear or spinning efficiently on climbs and into headwinds.

There are no magnets or spoke fittings to line up, so it straps on in moments and stays put. The sensor sleeps automatically after a minute at a standstill to save battery and wakes when you start pedalling, and the IPX7 rating means rain, puddles and sweaty turbo sessions are no problem. Choose a single sensor or a money-saving pair. Order your Fellmont Outdoors sensor today.

Why cadence

The number that changes how you ride.

Speed tells you what happened; **cadence tells you what you are doing about it**. Watching your pedal revolutions is the quickest way to notice that you **grind a big gear up every climb** or wind out into a headwind, and it is the one metric that changes technique rather than just recording it.

  • **Cadence** shows grinding versus spinning
  • **Speed mode** for logging rides without GPS drift
  • **Run two sensors** to get both at once

Compatibility

It talks to what you already use.

**ANT+ and Bluetooth together** means it pairs with cycling computers, sports watches and the apps people actually train on — **Zwift, Rouvy, Peloton, TrainerRoad, Wahoo Fitness, RideWithGPS** and others. One caveat worth knowing before you buy: the **Wahoo app cannot track two data types at once**, even with two sensors fitted.

  • **ANT+ and Bluetooth** dual broadcast
  • **Zwift, Rouvy, Peloton, TrainerRoad** and more
  • **Wahoo app limitation** - one data type at a time

Fitting and power

Strap it on and forget it.

There is **no magnet to align** and nothing to clip to a spoke, so fitting takes moments and nothing drifts out of position after a pothole. It **sleeps automatically after a minute** standing still and **wakes when you pedal**, which is what makes a coin cell last. **IPX7** covers rain, road spray and a turbo session that puddles on the floor.

  • **Magnetless, strap-on** fitting
  • **Auto sleep and wake** to save the cell
  • **IPX7** - rain, puddles and indoor sweat

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one sensor do speed and cadence at the same time?
No. One sensor does one job at a time, and you change which by taking the battery out and refitting it. If you want both at once, buy the two-sensor pack - that is exactly what it is for.
Will it work with Zwift?
Yes. It broadcasts on both ANT+ and Bluetooth, which covers Zwift, Rouvy, Peloton, TrainerRoad and the rest. For Zwift on a dumb trainer, the cadence sensor is the one that improves the experience most.
What is the catch with the Wahoo app?
The Wahoo Fitness app cannot track two data types simultaneously, so even if you fit two sensors it will show one at a time. That is a limitation of the app rather than the sensor - other apps handle two sensors normally.
Do I need a magnet on the spokes?
No, and that is the main reason to pick this type. It reads movement directly, so there is no magnet to align, nothing to slip out of position after a pothole, and no gap to re-set every time you take the wheel out.
How long does the battery last?
No figure is published, so we will not guess at one. The auto-sleep is what matters in practice - the sensor shuts down a minute after you stop and wakes when you pedal, so it is only drawing power while you ride. Carry a spare coin cell to an event and you will never be caught out.
Can I use it on a turbo trainer?
Yes, and it is one of the best uses for it. Cadence on a dumb trainer turns an indoor session into something you can actually structure. IPX7 means the sweat that collects under a trainer is not a problem.
